Holy Europe is Aki Cederberg’s second book and follows on from his acclaimed Journeys in the Kali Yuga. Departing from India, Aki takes up the journey where he left off in his first book and returns to European soil to seek out the sacred.
Over the course of Nine segments, Aki embarks on a journey of spiritual rediscovery and intuition that ultimately guides him home to his own ancestral roots. From the Baltic states, to sweden, Denmark, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Iceland, and Portugal. Aki finally returns to his native Finland where he rebuilds the sacred tradition of his people since time began.
Holy Europe explores the European sacred landscape as well as examining the nature of the European soul. While it is a personal account, the book is also a call to action for all European people to reclaim their heritage and reignite the sacred flame of native spirituality.
Aki does not advocate for a mindless return to the old ways, but rather a forging ahead with the ancestral tradition; the creation of something appropriate to this time, while remaining true to its roots.
Holy Europe is both a journal and a manifesto. It lays out a framework within which European people can find their way through the darkness and into the light. It offers an alternative to the salvationary monotheism that embraces life as it is. Aki does this in an engaging and personal way, allowing his readers to join him and see what he sees. One feels as if one is with him on his journey.
Beautifully illustrated with photographs throughout, Holy Europe should be on the bookshelf of anyone serious about reconnecting to their ancestral faith and traditions. Holy Europe is available from Arcana Europa and Amazon.
